Shops are listed alphabetically. These are some that we like to browse and gift shop, and while the list does not include all the fine shops on the island, we hope you'll enjoy the ones we've featured.
Banana Patch. If you love shopping, you'll love Banana Patch. Hand painted tiles, pottery, shell jewelry, locally made ceramics, koa woodworks, kitchen accessories, books, and much more in a nicely restored old store setting. In Hanapepe Town. From Poipu or Lihu'e, take Hwy 50 west and note the traffic lite at the Ele'ele Shopping Center, with McDonald's on the corner. Blu Umi. Classy locally operated tropical clothing, gifts, art. An enjoyable place to shop. In Hanapepe, on Hanapepe Rd (not Hwy 50), right next to Japanese Grandma. 808-634-0101.

Jacqueline on Kaua'i. Quality handmade clothing specializing in men's aloha (Hawaiian) shirts, children's wear, wedding attire, and more. In Hanapepe.

Kapaia Stitchery. Has provided locals and visitors with quality fabrics, Hawaiian wear, Hawaiian quilts and much more for over 40 years. In Kapaia, just outside of Lihu'e.
From Lihu'e, take Hwy 56 north a short distance, and look for the Kapaia Stitchery on the left just before the junction with Hwy 583. Note: it may be easier to turn left at Hwy 583, and retrace than to turn left off of Hwy 56. 245-2281.
Kauai Museum. The gift shop is a good source for Hawaiiana including books, koa woodworks, Ni'ihau shell leis, and other Hawaiian crafts. On Rice St in Lihu'e. www.kauaimuseum.org. 245-6931.
Koke'e Museum. Provides information about Koke'e State Park, including hiking trails. The gift shop offers Hawaiiana books, plus local arts and crafts. In Koke'e, past the Waimea Canyon lookouts. www.kokee.org. 335-9975.
